The Alberton facility is geared towards delivering OEM and Project work. Alberton also serves as our Head Office and is also used to trial improvement projects which are then rolled out to the larger branch network if effective.
The Alberton facility boasts:
2 Autoclaves: (3m diameter by 8m) and (2m diameter by 13m)
2000 m2 covered Workshop space
1300 m2 Yard space
10 & 5 ton lifting capacity
1000m2 Workshop containing 3 Autoclaves (1.2m dia x 11m length; 1.8m dia x 3.5m length; 2.28m dia x 1m length). Centrally located in Welkom, close to various Fabricators. A blast bay which can accommodate large items. Sufficient yard space to allow for large project drop-off areas. The Welkom team is flexible to allow for quick response to breakdowns – whether they are handled in the workshop or on-site.
800 m2 Workshop containing one Autoclave (1.8m dia x 10m length). Steelpoort has the needed facilities and equipment to offer Rubber-lining as well as Coatings and Ceramic Tiling Services. A large blast bay which can accomodate the majority of items needing blasting. Sufficient working teams and transport to handle site work at various customers with capacity in the workshop for large project orders and breakdown work.
Through an agreement with our largest Shareholders (H&M Roller Technologies) we have full access to their laboratory located in Pietermaritzburg. Here we are able to conduct the following tests: Tensile Strength, Elongation at Break, Rheometer testing, Abrasion Resistance, Specific Gravity and Bond Strengths. Preliminary tests of Shore hardness and Bonding are done locally in both Welkom and Steelpoort.
Established in 1974 as Parm Products in Welkom, the company has over 41 years experience in offering surface protection services to the mining sector. Parm has a rich history in the Welkom area, with the company at one point owning the local football team: Parm United. With various changes in the area, Parm has been able to adapt and optimize it’s operations to stay up to date with current manufacturing standards.
In 2005, Parm established a second branch in Steelpoort. Originally opened by Gavin Waugh, the branch was later managed by Bruce James. Originally aimed at supporting the local Chrome and Platinum mining in the surrounding area, the branch has also assisted with projects in the Barberton area as well as projects outside South Africa.
The acquisition of Parm Products and establishment of H&M Linings Pty (Ltd) trading as Parm Garay Africa. H&M Roller Technologies, the Garay Group and Diro Resources join as shareholders. The Garay Group offers us the opportunity to benchmark against international best practice as well as the opportunity to bring international technology our customers.
In June 2016, Parm Garay Africa completed the acquisition of Nuvo Rubber Applicators (formerly known as J&J Rubber Linings). The Branch is aimed at serving the OEM market, offering Maintenance and Shutdown services, serving as a base for Projects in Southern Africa as well as a HQ for the Parm Garay Africa Group.

The Parm Garay Africa team is committed to providing comprehensive surface protection solutions in Sub-Saharan Africa. We aim to do this by focusing on the quality of the materials we offer, the precision with which we apply them and the speed with which can can deliver solutions to challenges our customers face.
We offer Rubber-lining services using International as well as Local Materials: Natural Rubber, Butyl, Neoprene, Hypalon, EPDM, Ebonite as well as customized compounds based on specific challenges. Our Rubber-lining services are applied either on site or within our branch network. On site we use Chemical Cure, Open Steam Cure or Prevulcanized Rubber. Within our workshops we offer Steam Vulcanization by autoclave as an additional service.
Where other materials are needed, we are also able to provide, Epoxy Coatings and Ceramic Tiling solutions as well and are in the process to investigating Polyurethane as an additional service.
We have the benefits of being supported by an International Technology Partner, while also forming part of the H&M Roller Technologies Group. H&M has successfully partnered with international technology partners to introduce unrivaled quality applications to the local market.
